Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:           

As per Faculty Unit Negotiated Agreement; Article 10.8

Organizations must establish an extra-curricular account, elect officers, adopt a constitution or statement of purpose and be authorized by the BOCES. The successful candidate must be actively employed during the period of appointment from September 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
 
Log of student activities must be submitted midyear (January) and end of year(June) and be authorized by building principal for payment of stipend.

 

Responsibilities:

 

   POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Principal, the LEAD Advisor will serve as the primary advisor for all SkillsUSA  activities within the Career and Technical Education Program at the Southern Adirondack Education Center and the Myers Education Center and ECCA programs at SUNY Wilton and Queensbury campuses.

 

  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary mentor to all SkillsUSA  advisors or teachers
  • Provide guidance, encouragement and support to students and advisors as they work together toward common goals.
  • Oversee the coordination of all fund raising activities.
    • Act on fundraising
    • Prepare a calendar of fundraising
    • Work with advisors to consolidate fundraising activities.
  • Work closely with the Central Treasurer to provide a valid monitoring of all student funds.
  • Conduct regular meetings of SkillsUSA or FFA Advisors and teachers and plan special meetings as required. Prepare a calendar of regular meetings of all Youth Activities.
  • Coordinate and delegate responsibility for local competitions.
  • Participate in SKILLSUSA/FFA related activities which may occur during the school day, or after school hours and during vacation periods (to include but not be limited to local, regional, state and national competitions).
  • Promote the formulation and involvement of Student Council functions which support linkages to school wide improvement.
  • Work closely with management of SKILLS USA/FFA activities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the extracurricular accounts associated with the various SkillsUSA or FFA activities.
  • Establish, maintain and revise a written Constitution and/or Statement of Purpose.
  • Develop, maintain and revise a process for the election officers on a yearly basis.
  • Submit midyear (January) and end of year (June) report on club activity to building principals
