$2,300 - Per SABEA Faculty Contract
(Any Advisor can be shared between two staff members. The stipend is then split evenly with both staff.)

Qualifications: 

REQUIREMENTS:
As per Faculty Unit Negotiated Agreement; Article 10.8

Organizations must establish an extra-curricular account, elect officers, adopt a constitution or statement of purpose and be authorized by the BOCES. The successful candidate must be actively employed during the period of appointment from September 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
 
Log of student activities must be submitted midyear (January) and end of year(June) and be authorized by building principal for payment of stipend.
 

***NOTE: If a competition falls over a school break, the advisor is expected to chaperone and will receive release time for each day they are chaperoning over a school holiday/break.

POSITION FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Principal for CTE programs, coordinate all SkillsUSA or FFA activities within their assigned building/program at Southern Adirondack Education Center or the F. Donald Myers Education Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Lead  Advisor(s), which will meet National, State, and Local SKILLS USA/FFA Guidelines.
  • Meet with assigned teachers and students to support school-wide SKILLS USA/FFA activities.
  • Perform other SKILLS USA/FFA duties as assigned by the Lead  Advisor(s).
  • Collaborate with the Central Treasurer for Youth Activities to maintain and oversee the extracurricular accounts associated with SkillsUSA or FFA Youth activities.
  • Participate in SKILLS USA/FFA-related activities, which may occur during vacation periods (to include but not be limited to local, regional, state, and national competitions).
  • Establish, maintain and revise a written Constitution and/or Statement of Purpose.
  • Develop, maintain and revise a process for the election of officers on a yearly basis.
  • Elect officers on a yearly basis.
  • Submit midyear (January) and end of year (June) report on club activity to building principals
